Women's Health Week: Support from the PACE Team!
Messages of exercise encouragement to all the ladies from the PACE team!
Vanessa Joyce:
Find something that you enjoy and can see yourself doing forever and a day! A goal and its actions will be much more attainable when you view it as an opportunity and not a chore. Whatever your goal – break it down into really small goals and achieve them one step a time.
Ahsleigh Goetz:
Throughout the day you are, worker, colleague, mum, partner, daughter and friend. That’s a lot of responsibility in one day, so finding time for yourself can be difficult and we all get that. It is also so important! Whether it is taking a detour on your way home to stop and go for a walk or run, going to that Pilates class you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t, or going for a pampering session that your overdue for. It’s now your time! Don’t forget to celebrate the amazing thing that is you!
Tara Jenkins:
Do something to make you smile, laugh and most importantly makes you happy. If you’re someone who loves your daily walk outdoors, go and explore a new track, if you’re someone who loves a challenge, set the bar just a little higher this week, if you’re someone who loves a boogie, put the music on loud and just dance around doing your daily housework (trust me, surprisingly makes it fun!) or if you’re someone who loves to stretch and wind down after a busy day try something different like mediation or yoga. I love the saying “If you don’t try, you’ll never know”, now is your week to give it a go. Most of all find a way to move that makes you excited.
Lisa Bufalino:
My message to you is be proactive and discover your goals and ambitions, take the time to figure this out. This may be the hardest but the most worth while phase. It will then spark a sense or motivation and initiative, for you to then accomplish what you hope to achieve. Before you know it you will be looking after yourself in relation to your exercise regime, diet, social life, working life and relationships. Take charge and go be the best version of you!
Megan Vermeulen:
If you are looking to make lifestyle changes, reflect and be honest with yourself! Once you identify areas of your health that you want to work on, begin by making small goals. Choose activities and lifestyle changes that you will enjoy and make you feel your best! And don’t be afraid to ask for help along the way!
Elyce Hay:
My message is that any small change is a good change. Don’t feel like you have to make drastic changes in one go, small steps is still working to the end goal! The first step may be finding that time everyday for yourself to do something that you enjoy, whether it’s a walk with a friend or reading a book!
Sinead Power:
Don’t over think it. There is so much information and misinformation out there in regards to which exercise is best. Truthfully any exercise is best! Physical activity is supposed to promote all those happy hormones to be released into our brain, which make us feel good. Exercise should be a positive experience and we are much more likely to continue to exercise if its something we enjoy! Too often we get stuck in a negative cycle with exercise and over complicate it. The aim of the game is to just move a little bit more each week in a way that you enjoy and that makes you feel good!
